Voices Carry Child Advocacy Center is thrilled to welcome a new medical room due in late 2016/early 2017! The 136-year-old stone cottage at the Voices Carry property is being renovated into a medical room for children and teens, as well and adults with cognitive disabilities, who are suspected victims of abuse and other crimes. The new on-site facility will ensure that clients receive medical services in a child-friendly setting, streamline referrals, and ease transportation barriers. The renovated cottage will also improve access to Voices Carry’s services for kids and families with physical disabilities by serving as an accessible dual-purpose facility with a forensic interview space.
The renovations will make a big difference for families receiving services at Voices Carry and grow the capacity of the organization. New parking spaces, including an accessible van spot, will be added to the current lot. The cottage will be accessible from the west, allowing privacy while regular business is being conducted in the main house. The front waiting room will have a child’s play area, a conference table and chairs, and desk space for two Voices Carry team members. The design of the cottage will be warm, welcoming, and home-like while maintaining the historical look and feel of the building.
Help us celebrate this exciting addition to our family by donating a gift from our registry, attending an open house (date TBD), or making a monetary donation to benefit the medical room. Click here for more information about ways to celebrate.
Thank you for helping make this dream a reality for Voices Carry.
Sincerely,
Deborah Crawford, M.D.
